Rev. Steven R. Schlund was born on October 26, 1956 in Van Wert, Ohio. He is the son of Richard Schlund and the late Florence Bade, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has one brother, Jerry, and one sister Julie Poling of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Rev. Schlund attended elementary school at Holy Cross Lutheran School in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne in 1975. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran College in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a twin major in Religion and Biblical Language.
Rev. Schlund enrolled at Concordian Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. From 1981 to 1982, he served as a vicar of Memorial Lutheran Church of the Deaf in San Lorenza, California. He graduated from Concordia Seminary on May 27, 1983 and received his Master of Divinity degree. He accepted the call to be pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Delavan, Wisconsin. He served there from 1983 to 1997. In October of 1997, he accepted the call to be pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Chruch in Ravenna, Nebraska. He served this congregation and Zion Lutheran Church in North Shelton, Nebraska as a dual parish beginning in 2000 until accepting the call to be pastor of Peace Lutheran and Christ Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Great Falls, Montana in May of 2006.
Rev. Schlund was united in marriage to Rebecca Hannemann of York, Nebraska on July 31, 1982. God has blessed this marriage with three children: Thomas, age 23, Andrew, age 21 and Matthew, age 18.
